New Medication for Painful Intercourse

Treatment for dyspareunia or painful intercourse is targeted at identification and treatment of the underlying cause of symptoms. Osphena (Ospemifene) is a new non-estrogen medication that works as an estrogen agonist/antagonist. Osphena is used to treat moderate to severe dyspareunia associated with vulvar and vaginal atrophy, due to menopause.
